The broad-arrow Speedmasters are the few watches made by Omega that real collectors really want. What we mean by "real collectors" is the type of people that travel from Hong Kong to Geneva to New York chasing down watches, the type that may even think of watches as a legitimate investment vehicle. Essentially, those that have unlimited funds to spend on watches. These watches are extremely rare, and we have featured just two in the past. One here , and then one that we accurately labeled " The Coolest Speedmaster ever" that is a Broad-Arrow with a big ball second hand. Today we have found two Broad Arrow Speedmasters. The first is an original circa 1958 that is really a grail watch for Omega collectors. It even has the original bezel and case back. What is interesting about the case back is that this watch is so old, it does not have the now famous Speedmaster logo on it, but rather just the word "Speedmaster" lightly engraved on the circle line . The wear on this watch is exceptionally even too. It features the Caliber .321 movement (same that went to the moon) and price is on request only, but we'd guess it to be near $20,000.  But what if you love the looks of the Broad-Arrow hands (which we really do, thus our love for the Ranchero from the same time period), but can't afford to spend the resale value of an Audi on a watch? Luckily, Omega produced a broad-arrow re-edition, and we happened to track one of these down too. Coming from the year 2000, this re-edition looks just like the original Speedmaster and is in flawless condition. It is a perfect copy, it even has the double dots at 12 o'clock just like the originals. It features a hesalite crystal and a manually wound Omega movement. If you are looking for an affordable but interesting modern-day Speedmaster, you can't do much better than this in our opinion.

this is indeed a real collectors piece.. very rare to find complete with the original bezel. If you ever get the opportunity, put a new one next to it.. you'll understand in a second why they changed to the white stick hands.. Even with the newer 1957 re-issue that was available a while back, the reflections on the polished hands make it very hard to read actually.
